We would like to inform you that there will be no school from December 23rd, 2024 to January 3rd, 2025 for all students and staff. Our winter break will give everyone the opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th, 2025. Dear Arts Academy Families, As we approach our final week of school before the holidays, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and involvement in our community. We have some fun and festive themed days planned, and I hope your students are excited to participate! Monday, December 16, 2024 - "Backwards Day": Students can wear their shirts or jackets backwards. Please remember, for safety concerns, to avoid wearing jeans or khakis backwards. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 - "Ugly Sweater Day": Encourage your child to wear the ugliest sweater they can find or even create their own. The uglier, the better! Wednesday, December 18, 2024 - "Crazy Hair Day": Wild hair is a must! Please note this day also coincides with school finals for Math, Science, Geography, U.S. History, and Language Arts. Thursday, December 19, 2024 - "Pajama Day" with a Polar Express theme and a Hot Chocolate Bar to enjoy. Friday, December 20, 2024 - "No Virtual": We will be focusing on Math as we close out 2024. Welcome Back Arts Academy Falcons, We hope you had a great weekend. We are looking forward to this week. This week students will be allowed to participate in dress-out activities. Monday, December 9, 2024 will be Crazy Hat Day. Tuesday, December 10, 2024 will be Mix/Match Day Wednesday, December 11, 2024 will be Sports Day Thursday, December 12, 2024 will be Community Service Day. Friday, December 13, 2024, will be a celebration of our Winter Wonderland for our school and community. We look forward to a great week.

MELA Families: Millwood Elementary will have virtual learning for grades PK-2 and in-person learning for grades 3-5 on Friday, December 6th. Students in grades 3-5 will be dismissed at 11:15am. Thank you!

Good Evening Arts Academy Families Tomorrow November 13, 2024, is recognized as National Kindness Day. We want to promote Kindness not just tomorrow but for the rest of the school year. Students can wear Orange and Yellow and are encouraged to make an effort to be extra kind to someone tomorrow. We will recognize kind acts throughout the day, and students can earn House Points for showing acts of kindness. Reminder: The Houses of Amistad and Isinindi will be at school this Friday, November 15, 2024, from 8 am - 12:00 pm. Regular bus routes will run also. Millwood Public Schools will host a community meeting concerning a potential creation of a Tax Increment Finance District. The new TIF could have a financial impact on Millwood Schools. This meeting will cover the TIF proposal by the City of OKC and the financial impact on Millwood Schools. The community meeting will take place on tomorrow at 5pm at Millwood High School.

Good Afternoon Arts Academy Families, We are now ready for our Homecoming Game against Oklahoma Christian on Monday, October 28, 2024. The Ceremony will begin at @4:00 pm due to our packed schedule of games. On Monday, October 21, 2024, the Royal Court will be announced, and invites will be sent to parents congratulating your student for being recognized as a candidate. Please see the inserted poster for events that will begin on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. If your student is not participating in any dress-up events, they must be in uniform. We will send out reminders of what event is taking place each day. Please make sure your student is attending after-school tutoring if they need it. It is offered daily from 3:30 pm until 4:00 pm. Millwood Public Schools will distribute gun locks for free to any Millwood adult wishing to receive one. Millwood Security Officers will be available during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 9th, from 5pm to 8 pm to distribute the locks at each site. There is no sign up required, nor will parents need to disclose any information to receive a gun lock. Gun locks will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
